Logistics Department

The Logistics Department at the EnerSys global headquarters establishes transportation procedures for all EnerSys North America companies.

The Logistics Department group selects and manages the surface, air and ocean transport providers along with the international forwarding agents and customs brokers. In addition, the Logistics group provides transportation cost quotes, hazardous materials and trucking regulatory guidance, customs related support and directs the freight payment process, cargo claims and shipment routing guides. The Logistics Department is also responsible for ensuring the integrity of all U.S. bound shipments in accordance with the U.S. Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program created by Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

EnerSys is a certified participant of the C-TPAT program, a partnership between the trade community and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), designed to establish supply chain security processes to prevent terrorist devices and other contraband from entering the global supply chain.

C-TPAT

EnerSys recognizes that our international business partners and supply chain logistics providers play a key role in our continued success and we depend on the prompt delivery of parts from around the world. We encourage suppliers and providers to integrate security into their processes from start to finish.

To better understand this program and its best practices for supply chain security, please review the resources below.

  • C-TPAT Minimum Security Criteria (MSC) are defined by CBP as the security controls designed to mitigate the risk of loss, theft, and contraband smuggling that could potentially introduce terrorists and implements of terrorism into the global supply chain.
  • C-TPAT Government Website contains valuable information, definitions and explanations regarding the benefits of C-TPAT and how the program and membership operates.
  • C-TPAT 5 Step Risk Assessment Process Guide these guidelines help the company evidence a documented process for assessing risk and describes how to conduct effective risk assessments.
  • CTPAT Resource Library and Job Aids includes useful resources like the 7-Point Container Inspection Checklist and 17-Point Inspection Checklist among other samples and demonstrations of how the minimum security criteria can be met.

It is important that all employees, agents and business partners (suppliers, shippers, consolidators, trucking companies, and all other logistics partners) understand and adhere to the C-TPAT program. If you have questions, need C-TPAT training or resources, or would like to review EnerSys’ C-TPAT policies and procedures, please contact the Legal Department at legal@enersys.com or the Logistics Department at logistics@enersys.com.
