EnerSys® Partners with Mi-Kem, LLC to Grow NexSys® PURE Battery Distribution
READING, Pennsylvania, August 12, 2020 – EnerSys® (NYSE:ENS), the global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications, has entered into an agreement with Mi-Kem, LLC to support the sales of its NexSys® PURE Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) battery portfolio. With headquarters in Central Arkansas, Mi-Kem is a chemical and power brokerage serving the Janitorial and Sanitation (Jan/San) industry and will provide EnerSys with access to customers throughout Arkansas. NexSys® PURE batteries are a resilient and virtually maintenance-free power solution designed to reduce the unplanned downtime, unexpected operating costs and upkeep demands often associated with conventional flooded lead acid batteries. Featuring proprietary advanced TPPL technology, they never require watering, battery cleaning or long equalize charges, reducing the risk of damaging acid spills on clean floors and carpets. Available in a range of capacities and configurations, NexSys® PURE batteries provide exceptional performance for scrubbers, sweepers, burnishers, extractors and more.
“Sanitation professionals desire simple, yet predictable and productive, power that will last throughout the day, and NexSys® PURE batteries are manufactured to deliver,” said Edward Pogue, Sales Manager, NexSys® Products Americas at EnerSys. “We look forward to this relationship with Mi-Kem, LLC to provide its customers with a superior power experience that can result in an overall lower total cost of ownership.”
With a low self-discharge rate, excellent cycle life and superior storage life, NexSys® PURE batteries are constructed to perform after months of inactivity, a key benefit for equipment that has been sitting idle since the shutdown in March. They can be fast-charged, are suitable for opportunity charging during breaks or at the end of a shift and can even be put back into service before they are fully charged. Due to their extremely thin, pure lead plate construction, NexSys® PURE batteries also have the ability to deliver up to 20% more power compared to traditional flooded lead acid batteries of the same size. This allows for significantly longer runtimes for more productive hours on the job.
“Adding NexSys® PURE batteries to the Mi-Kem offering provides our customers with a premium quality product to power equipment demands brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Michael Davenport, President, Mi-Kem, LLC. “We’re thrilled to partner with EnerSys and look forward to a lucrative business relationship.” For more information about EnerSys and its full line of products, systems, and support, visit www.enersys.com.
